On September 25-29, 2017, the 136th meeting of the Governmental Committee of the European Social Charter and the European Code of Social Security was held in Strasbourg. The participants discussed the follow-up measures taken by the State Parties with respect to the 2016 Conclusions of the European Committee of Social Rights with regard to the thematic group on “Employment, training and equal opportunities”.

The Russian Federation stands for promoting social rights and the effective functioning of the European Social Charter. Further development of social policy has gained impetus both at federal and regional levels after the Russian Federation ratified the Charter Ratification of the Charter by Russia in 2009. New social strategies and programs has been adopted within the framework of the Charter.
