Russian delegation takes part in 36th session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe

A Russian delegation headed by Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region, vice-president of the Chamber of the Regions and member of the Bureau of the Congress takes part in 36th session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe on April 1-4. The urban-rural divide, the financial compensation of local and regional elected representatives in the exercise of their office, fighting nepotism within local and regional authorities and open governments at regional level are in the focus of the session.

Russian delegation takes an active part in discussing the questions in the agenda. Konstantin Tolkachev, the Chairperson of the State Assembly – Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan addresses the Chamber of the Regions of the Congress with a report “Open government in European regions. Transparent decision-making in dialogue with citizens”. The report covers modern IT-technologies which the republican authorities use when communicating with people.
